Hi!
The version 0.8.0 of buildroot-s6, a set of Makefiles to generate embedded
Linux systems using s6 as init system, is available [1].
What's new?
- bump buildroot to 2016.05.
- bump s6 stack to spring 2016 release.
- rework basic services in s6-linux-init-skeleton.
- introduce s6-linux-init-services, which provides the policies for some
services such as httpd, ntpd, dropbear, ...
- add configuration for HardKernel ODROID-C2.
buildroot-s6 is a sandbox to play with the s6 stack and see how it could be
integrated into the official Buildroot. It is still a work-in-progress.
As the packages s6-linux-init-skeleton and s6-linux-init-services are getting
bigger due to the files needed for service policies and as Buildroot is supposed
to be only a set of Makefiles, I plan to convert them to standalone projects for
the next release: s6-br2-init-skeleton and s6-br2-init-services.
